Wales Readies for Nations League Showdown with Squad Revamp
4 November 2026
Wales manager Craig Bellamy has announced his 26-man squad as the Dragons gear up for two pivotal UEFA Nations League clashes this month.
Among those returning are Harry Wilson and Joe Rodon, who are set to play vital roles. Wales will take on Norway in Oslo on November 14, followed by a high-stakes match against Portugal in Cardiff three days later.
Currently, Wales is positioned third in Group A4. They managed to defeat Norway in their last international outing, but also faced setbacks against Denmark and Portugal.
Wilson, who plays for Leeds, missed the previous call-up due to a quadricep injury, while teammate Rodon appears fit again after recovering from a hamstring issue sustained during a match against Brentford.
In addition, Manchester United's Karl Darlow makes his return to the squad, joined by U21 goalkeeper Joe Duncan, who is set to earn his first senior cap.
Cardiff's Rubin Colwill also makes a comeback, having not been part of the squad since last November. Meanwhile, Kai Andrews, currently on loan at Oxford from Coventry, is back for the first time since June.
Wales needs to secure a top-two finish in the group to advance to the quarter-finals. If they end up third, they'll face a relegation playoff against a team from League B, with those matches scheduled for March.
A finish at the bottom could lead to either a playoff or direct relegation from the group.
The squad features a mix of experience and youth:
Goalkeepers include Karl Darlow (Manchester United), Danny Ward (Wrexham), and Joe Duncan (Southend United).
In defense, the lineup consists of Jay Dasilva (Coventry City), Jayden Lienou (Leeds United), Ben Davies (Tottenham Hotspur), Chris Mepham (West Bromwich Albion), Joe Rodon (Leeds United), Ben Cabango (Swansea City), Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest), and Connor Roberts (Burnley).
The midfielders are Ethan Ampadu (Leeds United), Josh Sheehan (Bolton Wanderers), Kai Andrews (Oxford United), Rubin Colwill (Cardiff City), Joel Colwill (Cardiff City), Harry Wilson (Leeds United), and Liam Cullen (Leicester City).
Up front, Wales will rely on Cian Ashford (Cardiff City), Brennan Johnson (Everton), Sorba Thomas (Hull City), Lewis Koumas (Liverpool), Kieffer Moore (Wrexham), Mark Harris (Oxford United), Dan James (Leeds United), and David Brooks (Bournemouth).
